Lumbini is the place located in central terai of nepal where lord buddha, light of asia center of peace - was born in 623 B.C. lumbini is central for millions of buddhist devotees from all over the world. Lumbini used to be taken as a holy garden of beauty and legendary charm owned by shakya and kolias clans of that area.buddha himself was prince of that area and his family was from shakyas dynasty.

Inside Nepal there are a lot of monasteries on the name of Buddha but here in his birthplace many monasteries have been built by many nations from worldwide.after twenty years of marriage queen mayadevi gave birth to lord buddha after the wonderful and auspicious dream she got. According to the buddhist tradition, babies need to be born at their father's home that's why queen mayadevi was coming back from her parents house in DEVADAHA  to king suddhodana palace but on the way shae have got the labor and catched the branch of the sal tree and gave birth of prince siddhartha at lumbini  garden . When lord buddha was born there instantly walked seven steps and there were seven lotus blossoms according to the siddhartha steps it creates extra surprises to queen and queen did not survive very long after siddhartha born so he was grown up by prince siddhartha maternal aunty and back to palace later. Then after he got married with yashodhara and left the palace for searching enlightenment at the age of 29 and after he departed from the palace his son rahula was born. After 15 years prince Siddhartha returned to the palace, at that time he was already enlightened then again he went out to spread the knowledge that he gained.

Lumbini became a center for peace for all the human world. Buddhism itself is a great philosophy about living and survival.  For centuries, Buddhists the world over knew that the general area of Lumbini was where the Lord Buddha was born. In the words of those famous Chinese pilgrims of antiquity, Huian Tsang and Faeihan, 'Lumbini -where the Lord was born - is a piece of Heaven on Earth, where one could see the snowy mountains amidst a splendid garden, embedded with stupas and monasteries!' However, the exact location remained uncertain and obscure until 1 December 1886 when a wandering German archaeologist Dr. Alois A. Fuhrer came across a stone pillar and ascertained beyond doubt it was indeed the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Since that day it has become a centre point for hundreds of thousands of pilgrims.

Many of the places that were of importance to the Lord Buddha during his life retain a potent significance to Buddhists of today. Unsurprisingly, nowhere has a greater significance than the site of his birth. In the words of Buddha himself: "O-Bhikkhus', after my death when people and members of a new generation come and ask you, then tell them that here the Buddha was born, here he attained the full enlightenment, here he turned the wheel of Dharma twelve times, and here finally the Buddha entered into Parinirvana". Hundreds of years have gone by, but the architectural splendors of that era are still standing and serve as a vivid reminder of the origins of Buddhist philosophy and doctrines. As a complement to the temples and shrines, our aim is to create a living environment in which Buddha would have felt at home during his life.

Within Buddhism, one can practice Yoga and meditation, which are considered by Buddhists to be ways of purifying the mind and soul. Lumbini Buddha Garden with its large space is an ideal place to practice yoga and meditation!
