Nar phu trek is a famous undisturbed  trek in the Annapurna region.the trek goes along the annapurna circuit trek and it lies northeast side of the chame village in manang district. Nar and phu are different villages where the khampas(originally tibetian tribes) people captured the area as refugees  and they settled there later on. Both villages are very scenic and very rich with cultural ,natural and biodiversity perspectives. Nar village is bit bigger than the phu village according to the number of inhabitants. House in Nar and phu village looks as archaeologically important because of its structure and connected cluster mountain villages. The livelihood and their daily activities of the local on the arena of himlung himal is remarkable , majorly the local are engaged with agricultural activities they produce buckwheat, barley, potatoes and some vegetables.

Many monasteries , chorteins ,the ancient royal palace ,and settlements are the man made attractions of the area. Snow capped mountain views, amazing biodiversity, hills and gorges are the natural attraction of the trek. The satek monastery is the main monastery in this area where you can participate in daily pujas done by the monks. We can participate in the puja(worship) and do the meditation for the whole day with a great chance to observe and feel the daily activities of the lama guru and the learner disciples at holy satek gumba.at the festival time monastery also offers the limited accommodation so we have to booked earlier to get touched with buddhist spiritual power on the holy land.the monastery lies in between nar and phu village.

Nar village is another attraction of this trek. The village was established with mud and stone wall house in around 8th century.just below the pisang peak after the scenic three hours walk from satek monastery.people in the nar village were originally from tibet and they follow the bon religion but after the birth of the buddha in lumbini they changed their belief to buddhism , still we can see the their activities ,ritual and tradition as accordance to the tibetian style somehow.

The famous kang la pass (5320m)is another attraction of the trek. It is about β…š hours walk from the Nar villages. The pass has got the spectacular views of annapurna and manaslu ranges himalayan peaks. The trail above the nar village is gradual uphill and super impressive with gorgeous scenery off the manaslu massive and the meditative grassland. There is no lodge and restaurant in between so we have to carry the packed lunch for the pass.

Annapurna I (8091m) annapurna II(7937m) annapurna III(7555m) annapurna IV(7525m), dhaulagiri (8167m) are the major mountains can be seen from the kangla pass.this pass is not recommended in the winter because of heavy snowfall. After the pass we have to descend three hours down to ngwal village with super steep down so the crampons and the ice axe is recommended for safety . On the way down we can see manang villages and part of annapurna circuit trek with eagle eye way. Few blue sheep also occasionally  then after we will go to the beautiful ngwal village with amazing hospitality.

Nar phu trek is one of the restricted trekking destinations in the Annapurna region since 2013, we have to take a special permit to trek there. This trek will be the university  for the students of nature ,culture and adventure. The geographical landscape and nature is amazing there with diversified culture.
